Have you ever heard of a vertical mouse? This is one of Logitech’s bets to reduce the impact of repetitive strain injuries resulting from mouse use.

The mouse in question is the Logitech MX Vertical , a bespoke model designed to reduce muscle tension and decrease pressure on the wrist, resulting in fewer injuries. Let’s learn more about this initiative and find out how the new mouse can help you.

MX Vertical: an effortless footprint

Most injuries that result in time off work are caused by poor posture or continued use of the computer without rest. That’s why accessories such as monitor stand , footrest and wrist rests are so important in everyday life.

Logitech’s idea doesn’t rule out these items, but the company decided to rethink the mouse. Instead of a traditional model, the company has developed a “vertical” model – and one that will certainly cause a bit of surprise at first.

However, the company guarantees that its studies have shown that this mouse shape does not compromise productivity. In addition, the company also highlights that the vertical format reduces muscle tension and minimizes pressure on the wrist.

How the Logitech MX Vertical Mouse Works

The mouse development work had the assistance of VSI, a company specialized in ergonomics. The new mouse was tested with 52 users and, according to the company, all of them reported less discomfort in the forearm and wrist. To allow your fingers to rest on the top buttons in a natural way, the mouse tilt angle is 57 degrees.

For those who are unfamiliar with the format, good news: tested by international sites such as Engadget, analysts guarantee that getting used to the new mouse position is a matter of a few minutes. And indeed, the design proposed by Logitech is comfortable.

The first model, available now at Contabilista , was developed taking into account only right-handed users. Still, according to the tests of the international press, the mouse performed well in practically all tasks, with the exception of shooting games that require very fast movements, because for these specific gamer mice still presented better results.

Other technical specifications of the Logitech MX Vertical mouse also include a 4,000 DPI sensor, with the possibility to change the sensitivity in real time with a unique button.

The accessory is wireless and has an internal 240 mAh battery. According to the manufacturer, a full charge is enough for up to four months of use. The quick recharge system is another positive point: one minute connected to the socket allows you to store enough energy for up to three hours of use. The connection is made via USB cable – for use and recharge – or wirelessly, via Bluetooth (only use).

Finally, the Logitech MX Vertical mouse also has an exclusive application called Logitech Options. The software is available for Windows and macOS and allows the user to customize personal preferences on the buttons, such as changing command placement, pointer and scroll variations, among other features.
